Self-professed "slop popsters" Coyote Black are set to drop their new EP Love, tho later this week, but you can give it an early listen right now.
The three-song set was produced by Jon Drew (Arkells, Tokyo Police Club) and tackles a range of relationship-related drama with a "light heart." Opener "Late in June" explores the contradicting beauty and impossibility of eternal love, "$20" pokes fun at the playful planning of making the first move, and "Blue Blossoms" ends the EP with an unexpectedly positive (pun intended) story about unplanned pregnancy.
Each musical tale comes to life soundtracked by warm vocal melodies and jangly guitars, blending into a trio of breezy, endearingly retro-tinged summertime pop jams.
Love, tho is due out on June 25, and the band will play a release show at Moonshine in Oakville, ON, that same day. Right now, though, listen to the forthcoming EP in its entirety in the player below.
