Lifetime is set to produce a movie about the highly publicized Menendez brothers murder case, for which the two were sentenced to life imprisonment in 1994. Now, Deadline reveals that Courtney Love is set to star in the upcoming film.

The publication reveals that Love will play the mother, Kitty Menendez, while casting is currently underway for the roles of brothers Lyle and Erik. The film will reportedly focus on the extreme abuse the brothers suffered from their father and entertainment executive Jose Menendez.

Deadline also reports that RuPaul's Drag Race producers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato will serve as directors, while Abdi Nazemian (The Quiet) will provide a script. Production is slated to begin in Vancouver in February.

Lyle and Erik murdered their parents in 1989, spending their inheritance on sports cars, private tennis coaches, penthouse apartments and more as orphans. Having initially been pegged as suspects in the case, Erik confessed to the murders to his psychologist, leading to the arrest of Lyle and himself in 1990.
