Coldplay have been promising that they have an album called A Head Full of Dreams on the way, and now it seems that the LP might have a release date. Although the British arena-pop band haven't confirmed anything just yet, some eagle-eyed fans have deduced that it will likely be coming out on December 4.
This alleged information comes from mysterious promotional poster (pictured above) that Twitter user @leethommo spotted in the London Underground. It doesn't have Coldplay's band name or album title, and instead it shows only a rainbow-coloured "flower of life" design, plus the release date.
So why do fans think this refers to Coldplay's new album? Well, during an appearance at New York's Global Citizen Festival last month, frontman Chris Martin wore a T-shirt that appeared to be emblazoned with the same logo (see below). Coldplay's online timeline also features a similar image of rainbow-coloured interlocking circles.
Interestingly, December 4 is a year to the day since Coldplay first announced A Head Full of Dreams. This will be is Coldplay's seventh album, and Martin has said that it might signify the end of an era for the group.
"It's our seventh thing and the way we look at it is like the last Harry Potter book or something," he said. "Not to say there might not be another thing one day but this is the completion of something… I have to think of it as the final thing we're doing otherwise we wouldn't put everything into it. Then we will go on tour."
UPDATE (11/02 12:30 p.m.): Coldplay have now confirmed that the image is indeed from them, as they have shared a new teaser clip with the spiralling pattern on Facebook.
The band recently performed the new track "Amazing Day." Hear that below.
