Chris Martin has revealed Coldplay will be ditching their pseudo-military garb for a new look in 2009, not because the band's present outfits are played-out (although they kind of are) but because they stink. "We're not sick of the theme - just the smell," the group's front-man told Rolling Stone in a new interview.
Stench aside, Coldplay have caught a bit of flack recently over their choice of apparel, with many fashionistas criticizing the band for wearing the same clothes for their entire world tour in support of Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.
"The Pittsburgh Steelers wear the same outfit every week, and no one expects them to change," Martin said. "But wear the same outfit on both Leno and Letterman, and suddenly it's an issue."
There's no word yet on what new image Colplay will don in 2009 but we've heard the pirate look will be in again next season.
