Clinton St. John Announces 'Storied Hearts and the Three Assimilations'

Four years after his solo debut Black Forest Levitation, Calgary's Clinton St. John (ex-Cape May) has announced its follow-up, Storied Hearts and the Three Assimilations. The 11-song outing arrives independently on May 15.

According to a press release, the collection was tracked in St. John's attic over the course of the year, and found the artist inviting friends like Eric Hamelin (No More Shapes, Chad VanGaalen) and Foon Yap (Woodpigeon, Foon Yap & The Roar) over to contribute to the recordings. You can get a sample of the record down below via a stream of album track "Heard a Rumble."

Storied Hearts and the Three Assimilations is being presented as a multimedia experience, with a book of illustrations done by St. John being included in the package. Apparently the project grew in scope, with the singer-songwriter initially drawing pieces to accompany the lines of one song but eventually evolved into St. John making artwork for each track included.

Storied Hearts and the Three Assimilations:

1. Where Speeding Ships Pass
2. Heard A Rumble
3. Meteor Said To Flame
4. On This Cold Lake
5. The Textured One, The Boney One
6. Josephine
7. Patterns In The Snow
8. With Speed Gone Gone
9. Mammatus Clouds
10. Bit By The Lion
11. Seasick and Mean
