After Ye appeared on the show, wearing a MAGA hat and then calling for the government to abolish the 13th Amendment (which abolished slavery), Chris Evans took to Twitter to condemn the rapper's radical ideas.
"There's nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn't know history, doesn't read books, and frames their myopia as virtue," he wrote. "The level of unapologetic conjecture I've encountered lately isn't just frustrating, it's retrogressive, unprecedented and absolutely terrifying."

Last week, West was quoted at the FADER offices as claiming that there were only 800 slaves in America in the 19th century; the actual count is closer to 3.9 million. Earlier this year, he also memorably appeared on TMZ and declared that 400 years of slavery "sounds like a choice."
Lana Del Rey also criticized Ye's message, responding via Instagram comments to one of his inflammatory posts.
She claimed that Trump's presidency was "a loss for the country," but added that Ye's support of the president is "a loss for the culture." She accused them both of narcissism and delusions of grandeur, and claimed they both needed interventions.

Former SNL star Taran Killam, meanwhile, took a rather succinct approach to Ye's suggestion to abolish the 13th Amendment, simply tweeting: "You're dumb."

Swizz Beatz also made his position clear, tweeting: "FUCK THE MAGA HAT!"

Of course, Chris Rock was also gobsmacked by the rant. He filmed the rant from the SNL studio audience, and could be heard laughing and uttering "Oh my god" while filming the clip.

Despite all of his detractors, though, West did receive messages of support from Trump himself, as well as the likes of Candace Owens and Stephen Baldwin.
Like many, I don't watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) - no longer funny, no talent or charm. It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told "no"), was great. He's leading the charge!

Shame on every single person, on both sides of the aisle, who couldn't see that early on.
He is moving this country and the world forward with sheer bravery.
Remember that when you write your meaningless articles.
Real bravery takes risk.

Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
