In an effort to ease the loneliness caused by social distancing in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Toronto's Choir! Choir! Choir! have decided to host a virtual event called "Choir! — An EPIC Social Distan-Sing-Along!"

Taking place later this evening, Choir!'s two song-leaders will host their normal event, but instead of meeting up at a bar or community centre, they'll be streaming the event from the safety of their home.

Participants are invited to join online, where the event will stream from C!C!C!'s Facebook page tonight at 8 p.m. EDT.

See their announcement below for more details:

The experts have spoken and we're seriously taking their advice that sticking close to home, and limiting exposure to other people will help reduce the spread of the coronavirus. At the same time, it's been sad to have to postpone gigs in Toronto and around the world. But just because we're now in a time of "social distancing," doesn't mean we can't hang out, and that's exactly what we're going to do.

Starting at 8pm EST, DaBu will broadcast from their living room and everyone is invited to log on and sing with us. And just like our shows, we'll hang out, share some laughs and hold our C!ommunity close. Whether you've ever come out to Choir! or not, you are invited to join us online.

Also, you don't need any special gear. It's just you, singing in front of your computer/phone. You will be able to comment and chat with us but we obviously won't be able to see you! We still recommend you wear clothing!

The Choir! have planned to sing the following songs as a part of the event: "Stand By Me, "You've Got a Friend," "Space Oddity," "Wish You Were Here," "Lean on Me," "With a Little Help From My Friends" and the Friends theme song. Additionally, there will be an opportunity to make song requests.

The group have created a Google Doc with all the song lyrics so that participants won't have to look them up before the event. Those documents can be found here.

See their announcement below, and be sure to tune into their Facebook page at 8 p.m. tonight
