Zeal, fervour, enthusiasm; these words don't even cut it when describing Childish Gambino's performance at Osheaga. His eyes popped, his shirt popped off, he body rolled and bounded around the stage with so much energy that passersby were simply sucked into the vortex. Gliding about like a fluid snake, Gambino had more fun at Osheaga than anyone else. And yes he can rap, but he can still sing better than most, which he displayed on tracks "Not Going Back," "Got This Money" and highlight of the evening "3005."
Gambino's live band were imperative to this show, and with him bouncing around the stage, it was more like a metal gig than a hip hop one at times. One member of the crowd summed up the show perfectly, saying "I've no idea who this guy is but I can't stop dancing!"
