Chance the Rapper Confirms New Album 'The Big Day' Is Out Next Week

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 17, 2019

Earlier this year, Chance the Rapper promised to deliver a new album in July, and he's keeping his word. He'll release The Big Day on July 26.

Technically, it marks his first official studio album, following a trio of free mixtapes that culminated with the wildly successful (and Grammy-nominated) Coloring Book. The first two, Acid Rap and 10 Day, were only recently made available on streaming services.

So far, the Chicago rapper has not revealed a tracklisting or any guest features, though his latest single "Groceries" (featuring TisaKorean and Murda Beatz) is expected to appear on the LP.

Chance has previously spoken about how the album was inspired by his wedding to longtime girlfriend Kirsten Corley.

"The whole album has been inspired by the day that I got married and how I was dancing that day," he said back in May. "We had a reception with the legendary DJ Pharris. And we all danced our hearts out. It was the hardest I ever danced in my life and I'm a great longtime dancer. Everything in it is all the different styles of music that make me want to dance and remind me of that day and remind me of that night and all those people that were there."

The Big Day is available for pre-order here.

Chance the Rapper made the official album announcement via The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (July 16). Watch that below.
