Ecologically informed death metal vets Cattle Decapitation have announced they'll be bringing their concerns across North America this fall on a headlining tour supporting their forthcoming The Anthropocene Extinction.
The group is already out on the road as part of this year's Summer Slaughter event, but will take the marquee spot on their own tour by the middle of September. The upcoming "North American Extinction Tour" will have them hitting the road with fellow bangers King Parrot, Black Crown Initiate, and Dark Sermon.
As you'll see via the tour schedule below, there are plenty of Canadian dates on the horizon, with Cattle Decapitation set to hit several up-north concert halls between Vancouver and Quebec City. This is in addition to previously announced summer stops in Hamilton, ON and at Heavy MTL that take place later this week.
As for The Anthropocene Extinction, the record officially touches down this Friday (August 7) via Metal Blade. As previously reported, the album was recorded with Dave Otero, and supposedly peppers the ensemble's "blistering death-grind attack" with a bit of melody.
Thematically, it finds vocalist Travis Ryan chewing out vivisectionists and analyzing the destruction we've caused against Mother Earth. He'd previously called The Anthropocene Extinction "the most depressing record I've written."
