Caribou Returns with 'Our Love,' Shares New Track

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jun 3, 2014

In recent years, Dan Snaith has been focusing on his Daphni dance project and his Jiaolong label, but now he's finally returned to his celebrated Caribou banner for a new LP. Our Love will be out on October 7 through Merge.

According to a press release, "Our Love is formed around a mixture of digital pop production, hip-hop-inspired beats, muted house basslines, and a love of shuffling garage." It includes collaborations from Jessy Lanza and Owen Pallett, with mixing handled by David Wrench.

This basement-brewed record is apparently Snaith's "most soulful record," incorporating synthesizers, analogue soul, occasionally downcast lyrics, and celebratory moods.

The album cover is above. Scroll past the tracklist below to hear album "Can't Do Without You," which begins as a murky electro-soul number that emerges from the fog a minute and a half in and eventually pushes towards a pulsing climax.

Also below, see Caribou's extensive upcoming tour schedule.

This is Caribou's first album since 2010's Swim. It's available to pre-order at iTunes or physically from Merge's store.
