Tegan and Sara are indie pop titans, sure, but did you know they're also strong proponents of public transportation? It's a great place to cry, baby — and to listen to their forthcoming new album Crybaby.

In honour of the release of the Calgary-born-and-raised duo's 10th studio album next Friday (October 21), Calgary Transit has temporarily renamed bus route No. 19 — call me — after the record. Running along 16th Avenue, it was the route the twins took in the '90s to get to Crescent Heights — the very High School depicted in the new TV series based on their 2019 memoir.

"We took a lot of public transit growing up," Sara said in a video released by Calgary Transit [via CTV News]. "We took the CTrain, we took buses, we walked a lot — we love public transit. It was how we got to school; it was how we saw our friends."

She added, "We are so excited to have it renamed Crybaby. It seems like that should be illegal, but we're here for it."

Tegan chimed in that neither she nor her sister has driver's licenses (gay rights!), so public transit is still something they rely on: "I just think it's a great way to give back to your community and to contribute to making the earth a healthier and happier place."

Calgarians can hop a Crybaby bus starting tomorrow (October 14).
