Many years removed from the Europop proposition that "Life in plastic / It's fantastic," it's one thing to have your likeness inspire a Funko figurine. But what about becoming a LEGO minifigure? Clearly, it's an honour befitting of South Korean superstars BTS, whose music has inspired a new set of building blocks.

As part of its Ideas line, LEGO has unveiled a BTS set themed around the music video for the band's multi-platinum 2020 single "Dynamite." Ideas sets are "inspired by fan creations and uploaded to the LEGO Ideas site, where they are then voted on by fans" and then made into actual sets.

The "Dynamite" set, which you can find some detailed photos of below, features LEGO-scale versions of music video scenes like the record store, donut shop, brightly-coloured basketball court and more.

All seven members of BTS — RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook — have been given the minifigure treatment. Place them on the set's detachable stage, and they'll apparently dance together with the turn of a wheel.

LEGO credits the latest Ideas build to a pair of American buds who love BTS and bricks: Josh, 20, from Indiana, and Jacob, 21, from New York. Of their build, the latter shared in a statement, "Josh did the building and design work and, as a massive BTS fan, I told him what needed to be in it, what details were most important. It was a really fun process."

Josh added: "Jacob had the BTS knowledge, and he was able to direct my build in the proper way. I watched the music video over and over and tried to capture its essence in the LEGO bricks. It was insane when the project went viral online overnight."

Last June, BTS announced their hiatus, partially due to South Korea's conscription system. By law, all able-bodied men in the country must complete 18–21 months of military service. Jin, the group's eldest member, reportedly began his service term in December 2022.

Earlier this month, BTS's Jimin announced plans to release a new solo album.
