Earlier this month, Brockhampton member Ameer Vann was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women online. Now, group founder Kevin Abstract has addressed the claims against the group member, as well as revealed their forthcoming LP Puppy may be delayed as a result.

HighSnobiety points out that Abstract (born Clifford Ian Simpson) addressed the allegations in a live video on Instagram yesterday (May 23). He told viewers, "I don't agree with anything Ameer has admitted to, and I've talked with him about that," adding that Vann has "been getting help for, like, over the past year."

Simpson also expanded on the release plans for Puppy, which the group had planned to deliver through new label RCA next month. He said:

Something else I wanna say is... we're probably... we're probably gonna push the album back, but I still want a single to come out next month. And having to deal with, like, family problems in front of the world is very difficult. And I'm sorry if, like, if this isn't enough. Anyways, this is really awkward.

It's heavy. And I also understand if you're mad and, like, completely over it because, like, I shoulda said something. I shouldn't have been quiet for so long.

Simpson continued: "I also didn't feel comfortable going into tour without addressing this because I know that, like, the Brockhampton concert is the one place where people feel like, you know, they fit in there if they don't fit in at school or with their families, or whatever. And it really — it just fucking hurts and sucks."

He added, "I've never... seen Ameer hurt anyone. And I also want people to know that we hold each other accountable for anything, any mistake."

Vann was accused by singer-songwriter Rhett Rowan on May 12 of being "emotional [sic] manipulative and mentally abusive" while the two were involved in a relationship. Rowan also accused Vann of "abusing women" and having sexual relations with a minor prior to their own relationship.

Twitter user @GIGINOTHADID shared similar claims to Rowan on the platform a day earlier (May 11). Vann addressed the allegations on Twitter May 12, writing, "I've been in relationships where I've fucked up and disrespected my partners. I've cheated and been dismissive to my exes."

He added, "I have never criminally harmed anyone or disrespected their boundaries. I have never had relations with a minor or violated anybody's consent."
