Bono Hung Out with George W. Bush in Texas This Weekend

One of them is described as having "a huge heart and a selfless soul, not to mention a decent voice"

U2 recently kicked off their massive tour honouring the 30th anniversary of The Joshua Tree in Vancouver, and made their way to Texas for shows in Houston and Dallas late last week. Stadium shows weren't the only events on frontman Bono's itinerary, though, as it turns out he spent the weekend at George W. Bush's Prairie Chapel Ranch in Waco, TX.

The former U.S. president posted a photo of himself and his world-saving Irish guest via Instagram on Saturday (May 27), calling the U2 singer "the real deal" and adding that Bono "has a huge heart and a selfless soul, not to mention a decent voice."

The two apparently discussed work being done by the Bush Center, One Campaign and PEPFAR, with special attention paid to AIDS initiatives in Africa.

Dubya isn't the only controversial U.S. politician Bono has met with lately. Earlier this year, the singer met with Vice-President Mike Pence to discuss "Africa AIDS assistance" and "future security in developing nations."
