Blur Get Their Own 'Magic Whip' Ice Cream

BY Sarah MurphyPublished May 8, 2015

Blur returned with The Magic Whip last month, marking the band's first new album since 2003. If the new tunes weren't enough to satiate your appetite for all things Blur, though, the Britpopsters have just sweetened the comeback by announcing their very own brand of ice cream.

Back on Record Store Day, Blur offered up some free ice cream treats to fans outside California record stores, but now they've, err, whipped up their very own flavour of the delicious frozen dessert.

If you're wondering what the new album tastes like, The Magic Whip is vanilla ice cream rippled with raspberry coulis. It will be available in UK shops in June, courtesy of novelty ice cream makers the Licktators — arriving just in time for the band's scheduled UK and European tour dates, where the special blend will also be available.

Each ice cream sold is expected to come with a unique Blur download, as well.

As of yet, there are no plans for the ice cream to make its way to North America, but if you don't mind vanilla-flavoured soup, you can probably try your luck on eBay once the product hits supermarket shelves next month.

The Magic Whip is out now via Parlophone.
