Black Keys Singer Dan Auerbach Loses "Bob Dylan Hair" in Divorce

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 22, 2013

Here's a story that's likely to give Jack White some sense of satisfaction: Black Keys singer Dan Auerbach's messy divorce has resulted in him paying through the nose to his ex-wife, Stephanie Gonis, and parting with a rather unusual piece of rock memorabilia in the process.

Not only will Gonis receive more than $5 million, plus an SUV and a house, she is getting an item described in legal documents reportedly obtained by TMZ as "Bob Dylan hair."

There aren't any more details beyond that, but we're guessing that this is exactly what it sounds like: a lock of the iconic songwriter's hair. How and when Auerbach acquired the hair isn't clear, but in any case, it belongs to Gonis now. The settlement was finalized this week.

This is the latest weird twist in a divorce that already includes accusations of suicide attempts and mistreatment.

It follows hot on the heels of Auerbach being named in Jack White's own court drama; when White was slapped with a restraining order by his ex-wife, Karen Elson, court documents revealed that White had sent emails to Elson bashing Auerbach and complaining about their children attending school together in Nashville.
