This 50-minute making-of documentary should provide some insight into Björk's latest album-length experiment, Medulla, constructed entirely out of sounds derived from the human voice. But it doesn't; not really. It does however reinforce the initial impression that the album is something to be admired more than enjoyed even the Icelandic genius herself seems much more interested in process than in the end result, as she conducts contributions from the likes of Mike Patton and the Roots' beat-boxer Rahzel. The in-studio footage is pretty cool, but the doc is pretty sloppy and the few hints at insight get lost in short attention spans. (Atlantic/Warner)
