Billy and the Lost Boys

Yet Why Not Say What Happened?

BY Rob NayPublished May 1, 2006

On their third full-length, Billy and the Lost Boys offer their strongest record to date. Yet Why Not Say What Happened? features muscularly resonating punk rock. Front-woman Billy the Kid’s singing and guitar playing are in peak form here, offering rich melodies throughout the disc. With a new rhythm section that includes drummer Darren Chewka of Edmonton’s Les Tabernacles and bassist Graham Fraser of Calgary’s Safe On A Satellite, the group’s arrangements are consistently solid. Songs such as "Just Say Something” and "Not Alone” are among the band’s most sophisticated and memorable. Yet Why Not Say What Happened? shows Billy and the Lost Boys hitting a powerful stride, offering highly engaging music.
