Beth Orton Returns with 'Kidsticks' LP, Shares "Moon"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 2, 2016

A couple years ago, Beth Orton reissued her 1999 sophomore album Central Reservation to help ease fans' wait for new material. Well, that wait is finally over, as the singer has revealed plans for a follow-up to 2012's Sugaring Season.

Titled Kidsticks, the brand new LP is due out on May 27 through Anti-. Co-produced by Orton and Fuck Buttons' Andrew Hung, the new album was spawned from experimentation with electronic loops, and draws inspiration from Orton's new home of California. The 10 new songs apparently combine the spirit of her earlier work with the openness of the Los Angeles landscape.

In addition to the news of the record, she's also shared a brand new single called "Moon." It's an appropriately spacey, psychedelic affair that will easily pull listeners into its orbit, and you can hear it right now.

The Kidsticks artwork is pictured above, while the tracklisting is listed below. Beyond that, hit play to hear "Moon."
