Ben Harper with the Blind Boys of Alabama

Asking for redemption has never sounded so good. Ben Harper, along with the Blind Boys of Alabama, have produced an album that tastefully merges the sounds of old Sunday gospel, with Harper’s bluesy folk styling. This spirited and soulful amalgamation places a love for improvisational musicianship with an expression of faith. The Blind Boys of Alabama, who have been performing gospel music for over 60 years, give the record’s harmonies a rich consistency. A great example of their capabilities is proven in the song "Mother Pray,” an ensemble of Harper’s quirky high-end voice, on top of low end a cappella, with no instruments required.
