"Sukie in the Graveyard" / "Allie" (live on 'Meyers')

On Monday night (June 22), Belle and Sebastian were the musical guests on Late Night with Seth Meyers. In addition to their on-air performance, they played a web-exclusiive rendition of "Sukie in the Graveyard" from 2006's The Life Pursuit, and this can be seen now.

The version is faithful to the album rendition, as the group tear into a perky arrangement of whirling organ, choppy strums and boppy rhythms, while frontman Stuart Murdoch paints a vivid lyrical portrait of a young bohemian named Sukie. Halfway through, the tackily dressed singer pauses to have a dance session with Dee Dee Penny from Dum Dum Girls, who he refers to as "Sukie."
