Alan Longmuir, bassist and founding member of the Bay City Rollers, has passed away. He was 70 years old.
Though details are scarce, Longmuir died after suffering a brief illness. According to the BBC, Longmuir had become ill while on vacation in Mexico. He was flown home and was receiving care in a Scottish hospital before dying.
Known as the "tartan teen sensations from Edinburgh," the Bay City Rollers were considered one of the first boy bands. They were known for their hits "Saturday Night," "Bye Bye Baby" and "Give a Little Love."
