Baptists

'Bloodmines' (album stream)

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 14, 2014

Today (October 14), menacing Vancouver outfit Baptists immerse you once again into the blackened worlds of crust and hardcore via the release of their sophomore set, Bloodmines. The album is out in various formats through Southern Lord, but you can take each pick axe-swinging hit in now through a full album stream.

Like last year's Bushcraft, Baptists dive into the virulent sounds of bands like Cursed, Tragedy and Converge, though Bloodmines streamlined severity puts into play sleek but sinister guitar work and the always rifled-off, rapid-fire attack of drummer Nick Yacyshyn. A couple quick — and we mean quick — highlights include "Wanting," the politician punishing "String Up," and the social housing system questioning "For Profit."

You'll find those tracks and more down below, while you can also check out Exclaim!'s new interview with vocalist Andrew Drury over here.
