The Autumn Offering

Fear Will Cast No Shadow

Mixed emotions gripped me as I settled into the Autumn Offering’s latest album, Fear Will Cast No Shadow. While they certainly deserve credit for their revamped line-up after the departure of both their original vocalist and drummer, it’s a shame the five members couldn’t quite pull it together to craft what could have been a punishing album. On the upside, the Autumn Offering have shuffled their way into a more melodic sound, which allows them to explore easier transitions and more straightforward rhythms. New vocalist Matt McChesney’s talent shines on "The Castaway” and "From Atrophy to Obsession,” which was just enough for me to say Fear Will Cast No Shadow is worth your attention.
