Montreal's Atsuko Chiba have announced their third full-length record, Water, It Feels Like It's Growing, arriving January 20, 2023, via Mothland.

The forthcoming release — engineered and mixed by sixth member Matthew Cerantola at Room 11 — is "not meant to be strictly political," though the band note in a statement that their "references stem from highly politicized movements and ideas."

They elaborated:

Division and group ideology are heavily explored. A prime example is the weaponization of vocabulary used to distract, displace and alienate us, forcing us to pick sides on every front. Our lyrics also strongly denote our innate love for all living things, encompassing a hopeful, if somewhat violent, plea for change.

Today, they share eight-minute lead single "Seeds," which arrives alongside a music video directed by Rodrigo Sergio and starring performing artist Jade Maya.
