Ash to Split?

BY Cam LindsayPublished Jun 11, 2007

Northern Ireland-bred rockers Ash hinted that their time might be up at the Isle of Wight Festival on the weekend. During their set, which featured a mixed bag of classics and new songs from their forthcoming album, Twilights of the Innocents, front-man Tim Wheeler announced, "This is the last song of our final album," before launching into the title track.

Though no statement has been given by the band clarifying the comment, gossip has been spreading like wildfire across the web. It was only recently that Wheeler announced the actual reason for guitarist Charlotte Heatherly's departure was not an amicable decision. "It was our decision for her to go," he said. "She wanted the best of both worlds - to be a solo artist and to be in a band. I could tell her heart wasn't in it and it made things awkward between us."

Twilights of the Innocents is scheduled for release in the UK through Warner on July 2 annd in Canada on July 17.
