Arkells have released a brand new single titled "You Can Get It," their first collaborative release with Chicago-born artist K.Flay.
Recorded in Los Angeles before the pandemic lockdown, the song takes on new meaning with its accompanying music video — shot remotely and directed by Mark Myers — which sees the artists playing a surreal, high-energy round of Wheel of Fortune, after Arkells frontman Max Kerman sets up a green screen in his living room so he can be transported into the virtual gameshow realm.
"This song is about finding your momentum, the potential energy that's inside of you," K.Flay said of the track in a release.
She continued: "The moment when you scream to yourself 'I DON'T GIVE A F*CK TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT! YOU CAN GET IT!' So often, the future doesn't just feel unknowable — it feels impossible. We wanted this song to feel like possibility. Like the world is opening up. Like you are powerful."
Kerman added: "It feels like the sun is finally coming out, and the song is about being free to chase down every dream and desire."
