Following Anthrax 's recently revealed lyric video for new single "Evil Twin," the long-running thrash metal unit have formally announced the arrival of their next LP. Titled For All Kings, the act's 11th full-length album is due to drop February 26 via Megaforce/Nuclear Blast.
The band unveiled the plans through a teaser trailer, which featured their iconic, pointy band logo and the album title materializing through a patch of fog. From there, we see portraits of the band members and the confirmation of a due date. You'll find the trailer down below.
As previously reported, the band premiered their "Evil Twin" track at the end of October. The song targets "some of the infamous zealots and others who have perpetrated violent extremism on innocents around the world," and as one might expect, has the band trafficking in thrash.
"Yeah, that opening riff is really evil," drummer Charlie Benante said in a statement. "We had done a lot of touring with Death Angel and Exodus, so I was in a really thrashy state of mind when I starting writing the riffs for that song. I think along with Scott [Ian]'s lyrics and Frank [Bello]'s melodies, we came up with a really great, old-school thrash metal feel."
Press materials add that the band recorded 20 songs during the album sessions, though a tracklisting has yet to be revealed.
Anthrax are currently touring Europe with Slayer, though Benante has opted to sit out this trip to take care of a previously diagnosed carpal tunnel issue. You'll find the tour details over here.
For All Kings is the band's first original LP since 2012's Worship Music. Ahead of the new album, they'll be dropping a 30th anniversary edition of their landmark Spreading the Disease. The reissue arrives November 20 via Universal.
