Alvvays Sign to Polyvinyl for Debut Album

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 24, 2014

Last year, Maritime-bred/Toronto-based haze-pop outfit Alvvays announced that they had signed to Royal Mountain Records and would release a self-titled album early in 2014. Now, it turns out the group have a new label in their corner: Polyvinyl Records.

A tweet from Polyvinyl reveals that it has signed the band, with the debut album "coming soon." The details have yet to be set in stone, but hopefully the wait won't be too long.

The collection was produced by Chad VanGaalen at his Yoko Eno studio in Calgary. It was mixed by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., Kurt Vile) and Holy Fuck member Graham Walsh (Hannah Georgas, METZ). Below, hear the bleary new single "Archie, Marry Me," plus the previous "Adult Diversion."

A listing on Discogs notes that the album was previously self-released on cassette and sold on tour.
