Alvvays Pay Homage to Montreal's Expo '67 in "Dreams Tonite" Video

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 13, 2017

Alvvays may be one of the freshest bands to emerge from Toronto in recent years, but the four-piece is toasting another Canadian city in their latest video.

Antisocialites track "Dreams Tonite" has been treated to visuals that celebrate the World Fair coming to Montreal back in 1967. A collaboration with director Matt Johnson, the clip features plenty of retro-inspired footage.

"Canada was at its coolest 50 years ago in Montreal at Expo '67," the band said in a statement. "We fetishize retro-futurism and are thrilled our buddy Matt Johnson was able to facilitate our half-century temporal trip back to peak pop and op."

Ensuring that the now-defunct Montreal Expos baseball team isn't the only legacy of Expo 67, "Dreams Tonite" is here for your viewing pleasure. Check it out below, where you'll also find the band's upcoming Canadian dates.
