Allie X has announced the cancellation of a North American tour due to illness.

Yesterday (March 28), the Canadian singer-songwriter shared on social media that "the same autoimmune illness that inspired Cape God," her 2020 sophomore album, "has flared up and has left me bedridden and under a doctor's care."

"Sometimes, despite all my best efforts, my body stops working. And all I can do is lie still, breathe through the pain and wait the weeks or months it takes to pass until I can work my limp up to a run again," Allie X wrote in an attached message, adding, "Be good to yourselves and your bodies. Health is everything."

The artist shared that ticket refunds are available at point of purchase. Three Canadian performances in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal were part of the affected tour itinerary, which can be found below.

We'd like to wish Allie X a speedy recovery. Cape God was long-listed for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize. A deluxe edition of the LP arrived last year. Read Exclaim!'s 9/10 review of Cape God.
