After taking a hefty amount of time off, Exclaim!'s July cover boys, Alexisonfire, are back in full force with Old Crows/Young Cardinals, their latest long-player, which came out a few weeks back on Dine Alone Records. And to show just how back they are, the band have lined up a massive tour, hitting up tons of cities north and south of the border, as well as across the pond.
However, according to an interview with Exclaim!, constant touring previously had the five members cracking and splintering before deciding to get off the road and take some time away from the band.
"We had a really long hiatus where, at times, I think the future of Alexisonfire was definitely questionable," singer George Pettit said. "Not necessarily that we were ready to break up, but we had just come off ten months of touring on Crisis, everybody was a bit disheveled, weird things had happened personally between people and we needed time to recuperate."
So what better way to test the band's rejuvenated dedication than to head back out on the road? Which is exactly what Alexisonfire will be doing this summer, first playing daily on the endurance-testing Warped Tour in July and August then heading over to Europe in October for a two-month tour with Anti-Flag, the Fall of Troy and the Ghost of a Thousand.
