Aerosmith Saga Heats Up as Steven Tyler Threatens Band with Lawsuit over Replacement Singer

Oh, Aerosmith. Please break up already. Or get back together and plan a world tour. Just do something to end all this drama, because we're so sick of hearing about it. If the lamest, most lukewarm dad rock band can't get along in this world we live in, then who really can?

If you need a refresher, the most recent Aerosmith story we had to offer was last week's Steven Tyler escapade. The genuinely insane singer proved he still had it with an impromptu vocal performance at a Home Depot loudspeaker. Why? Well, we're not really sure.

Nonetheless, the band are still planning to audition for a new singer, something that isn't sitting so well with Tyler's legal team.

Billboard obtained a letter that Tyler's lawyer, Skip Miller, wrote to Aerosmith manager Howard Kaufman. Miller pointed out that Tyler and himself "reserve all of our legal rights and remedies in this matter, including, without limitation, pursuing legal action for damages and other appropriate relief."

In other words, if Joe Perry and co. try to replace Tyler, they'll be slapped with a lawsuit and a major legal headache. Hopefully, this will cause the Tyler-less Aerosmith to back down, because the rumours are floating around that Billy Idol, Lenny Kravitz and Chris Cornell have all been considered for the singer's replacement. And, seriously, any of those choices could only result in an Aerosmith much worse than the current one.
