4th Pyramid

The Pyramid Scheme

BY Mark BozzerPublished Mar 13, 2012

Toronto, ON MC/producer 4th Pyramid has quietly been building a solid resume over the years, collaborating with the likes of the legendary Pete Rock, Doom, Wu members like Ghostface and the Def Jux camp. On his debut full-length, The Pyramid Scheme, it's a more Canadian affair, as the solid beats and rhymes served up are accompanied by vets such as Saukrates, Marco Polo and a young cat on the come-up named Rich Kidd. On lead single "So Balboa," featuring Saukrates, 4th Pyramid trades boasts with Sauk over Rich Kidd's beat, echoing Can-Con classic "Northern Touch." The Simahlak-produced "Webslinger" finds 4th riding the vintage horns nimbly, resulting in a definitive hometown street banger. It's unfortunate that 4th couldn't secure some of the talent he's worked with in the past to drop in on this release, but The Pyramid Scheme is certainly one you might want to invest in.
