3 Doors Down Are Taking Some Serious Heat over Their Upcoming Canadian Shows

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Jan 20, 2017

Coming off playing to a yuuuuuge crowd at Donald Trump's pre-inauguration festivities, "Kryptonite" rockers 3 Doors Down now have their sights set on the Great White North, where they'll play a series of shows at Canadian concerts in March. Unfortunately for the band, many Canadians don't seem intent on giving them a warm welcome.

If you head over to the group's Facebook page, the comments are less than enthusiastic, with one reading that the band "might as well cancel the Canadian stops on your tour right now. Playing for a misogynistic, racist, homophobic tyrant like Trump makes you complicit."

Other commenters propose boycotting the Canadian shows entirely, with another, Nathan Doucet from Halifax, writing that "if we welcome them here, we are welcoming supporters of a racist and a misogynist. Please, don't buy tickets to this or attend this show!"

As with any Internet comments section, some replies are more civil than others, but you can take a read through them all here if you so choose.

As it stands right now, 3 Doors Down will makes stops in Moncton and Halifax before heading west through Canada, with stops in Montreal, Kitchener, Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton. You can find the Canadian leg of their tour listed below.
