2 Chainz Sheds Light on New "In-Depth, Personal" Solo Album

2 Chainz teamed up with Lil Wayne to release the collaborative Collegrove earlier this year, but don't think for a minute that the rapper is done releasing new music in 2016.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, 2 Chainz confirmed that he would be dropping another record this year, his first proper LP since 2013's B.O.A.T.S. II #METIME. Concerning the record, he said to expect material that includes more feeling, storytelling and emotion.

"It is going to be more personal, it's time for that," he told the publication. "I got things that are hard for me to communicate about, but music is very therapeutic for me. I have some things that I just really, really need to get off my chest, and by me not actually having a counselor — the booth is that for me."

He continued: "It's time for me to unlock my heart, it's time for to release all these emotions I've been through, from my days of 13, 14, 15, to now my thirties. It's just time for me... to spread my wings and let them know this me, this is the reason why I am this way. That's what it is."

An appearance on the Rap Radar podcast late last year saw 2 Chainz reveal that the title of the record would be B.C., an acronym for "Before Chainz," though that has yet to be confirmed.
