2:54 Reveal Self-Titled Debut LP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 7, 2012

The curiously named 2:54 haven't been around for long, but the sister duo of Colette and Hannah Thurlow have already rustled up some all-star support for their self-titled debut LP, due out on May 28 through Fat Possum Records.

The forthcoming album from the gloomy UK rock duo was produced by Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) and mixed by alt-rock studio genius Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails). It includes a number of previously released cuts from their catalogue to date, and a press release notes that it's "ripe with danger and beauty."

There are said to "duelling guitars," "dance floor rhythms" and "freaked grooves." Influenced by punk, desert rock and atmospheric R&B, these 10 songs apparently add up to "a beautifully sustained exercise in mood and tension."

The band have a number of U.S. and European tour dates on the horizon, though none in Canada. See the schedule here.
