Showtime's dramedy Shameless has been making headlines this week as star Emmy Rossum has demanded equal pay as her co-star William H. Macy. As a result of the renegotiations, production on the show has halted. Now, Macy is voicing his support for Rossum.
Speaking with TMZ, the actor said it's "about fucking time" that Rossum receive equal pay to him.
"She works as hard as I do. She deserves everything," he said. "The only thing I've got over Emmy Rossum is I'm better looking."
Rossum has been reportedly offered equal pay to Macy if and when the show continues, but she's now negotiating to be the highest paid performer on the show as a way to retroactively make up for the years in which Macy was paid more.
