We're Only Getting Half of 'Arrested Development' Season 5 This Month

It's been a wild few months for Arrested Development fans. Aside from the whole Jeffrey Tambor scandal, the show has been newsworthy for all of its new content. Creator Mitchell Hurwitz dropped a "remixed" version of Arrested Development Season 4 before revealing that Season 5 was coming this month. Unfortunately, however, we've now learned that we're only getting half of the episodes.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Netflix will only deliver eight of Season 5's 16 episodes when the show returns on May 29. The plan is to deliver the second half this fall.

The reasoning for the split batch of episodes? It's most likely so that the show can qualify for Emmy consideration. After all, the cutoff for the Emmys is May 31.

The first half of Arrested Development Season 5 arrives on May 29. Watch its trailer below.
