"I've learned that if you plan for every variable, a happy outcome doesn't have to be left to chance."

After teasing its arrival last month, Nathan Fielder has now shared the first trailer for his new HBO comedy series The Rehearsal.

The first extended look at the show opens with Fielder greeting and speaking with a series of subjects one-on-one, not unlike his approach in the acclaimed Nathan For You.

However, things go sideways upon revealing how he's left little of these meetings — from handshakes to conversation — up to chance. He admits to one person, "Everything that's happened today, I've rehearsed it dozens of times in a replica of your home."

Fielder explains further, "My goal is for your rehearsal to reflect reality. With this show, if your performance isn't accurate, you could ruin someone's life." You can watch the entire trailer below.

As previously reported, The Rehearsal premieres July 15, and has Fielder writing, directing, executive producing and starring. The Canadian recently executive produced Season 2 of How To with John Wilson for HBO, a show that was renewed for its third season this past February.

Fielder is also slated to star alongside Emma Stone in The Curse, a forthcoming Showtime series co-created with Josh and Benny Safdie.
