Watch Nathan Fielder Have the Worst Time at a Mets Game

Is it a bit?

Beloved Canadian comedian, producer and director Nathan Fielder is known for many things — including this year's excellent HBO series The Rehearsal — but above all, he's best at absolutely decimating good vibes, which is exactly what he did last week with a particularly miserable appearance at New York's Citi Field.

As baseball fans surely are aware, the New York Mets lost miserably to the San Diego Padres (1-7) in Game 1 of the MLB Wild Card series, which is presumably why Fielder seemed to be in such low spirits when his grim mug set the mood on Citi Field's jumbotron Friday night (October 7).

"Who could have guessed a man known for entertainment at the intersection of absurdity and existential dread would be interested in the New York Mets," tweeted one user.

"Such a relief to find out that this game is actually just a rehearsal for the playoffs," joked another.

Another Twitter user in attendance conceded that Fielder's horrible expression was the "best part of the game so far," while yet another remarked that the comedian has "reached the point that he doesn't even need to tell jokes anymore, he only has to show up unexpectedly to elicit laughs."

Fielder reportedly attended the game with Emma Stone, who is due to star in the newly announced TV comedy The Curse alongside Benny Safdie and Fielder himself.
