Watch a Trailer for the Morrissey Biopic 'England Is Mine'

Morrissey's early years — you know, the ones before he became a raving pro-Brexit lunatic, questionable t-shirt designer and failed erotica writer — will be explored in an upcoming film now called England Is Mine, and a new trailer for the biopic has just been unveiled.

The Mark Gill-directed project stars Jack Lowden as a young Steven Patrick Morrissey, portraying Moz's early life in Manchester, prior to becoming the iconic frontman of the Smiths and a successful solo artist. The story is set in the 1970s, and the trailer gives us a peek at a young Morrissey's disdain for the music industry — though it seems like that might all change when he meets a young guitarist named Johnny.

The film will debut at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on July 2, followed by a UK theatrical release on August 4.
