Tornadoes haven't really stopped existing, so why hasn't there been another tornado movie since Twister first spun into cinemas in 1996? Producers are set to rectify the situation with a new Twister reboot.
According to Variety, Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski is in talks to direct the film. Universal Pictures is currently on the hunt for a screenwriter.
It's unclear whether original star Helen Hunt will make an appearance in the new Twister (her co-star Bill Paxton died in 2017). Further, we don't know if they plan to use the original tornado or recast the role.
