Love it or hate it, pop culture behemoth The Simpsons has broken plenty of television records over its seemingly endless run on television. And this weekend, the show achieved another milestone.
Last night (April 29), the show aired its 636th episode and in the process became the longest running prime-time scripted series in history.
The record had previously been held by Gunsmoke, which aired 635 episodes between 1955 and 1975.
To celebrate the milestone, The Simpsons made reference to it on Twitter:
Despite dropping so many episodes, however, the show still hasn't solved The Problem with Apu. That said, they've recently vowed to try.
