The Dark Crystal's Gelflings and Skeksis will live on — in the form of a new ballet show for the Royal Opera House in the UK.
The company announced its 2021-2022 run of Jim Henson Company-cosigned show titled The Dark Crystal: Odyssey, just six months after Netflix unceremoniously cancelled its gorgeous reboot The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance after only one season.
The new stage show, described as a "magical coming-of-age story" for family audiences, will feature puppets and props provided by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. Odyssey will be directed and choreographed by Wayne McGregor.
It's no Age of Resistance Season 2, but it'll have to do for now.
