There are all kinds of infuriating Simpsons theories floating around the web (do not get us started on the Hank Scorpio shoe debate), but much-maligned U.S. Senator Ted Cruz has just dropped the worst take yet.
While speaking at the 2018 Conservative Political Action Conference, Cruz dropped this little turd of a comment:
Putting aside the GOP's shakey history with The Simpsons, this objectively incorrect take has managed to piss off the entire internet.
There was a loud chorus on Twitter pointing out the show's constant mocking of Republicans, the fact that Maggie Simpson nearly killed the Republican Mr. Burns with a gun and even the fact that Lisa Simpson once became president in order to save American from President Trump (a gag that seemed far-fetched at the time).
Then, Simpsons showrunner Al Jean decided to weigh in:
