Christopher Nolan's twisted tale Tenet is one of the only massive blockbusters to have been theatrically released during the COVID-19 pandemic. And while the pandemic has been tough on everyone, Nolan has been outspokenly upset about the way directors have had to watch their movies be released on streaming platforms instead of big-screen movie theatres. Now, to spite him, someone has released Tenet on Game Boy Advance.
The decidedly lo-fi gaming system can only fit 30 minutes of incredibly shitty-looking video on its cartridges, meaning YouTuber Bob Wulff had to split the movie onto five different cartridges.
"This is quite possibly the worst way to view Tenet," Wulff added.
In fact, he had to bring the resolution of the film down to a minuscule 192 x 128 aspect ratio to fit the system's 240 x 160 screen. He also had to compress the film to a playback speed of six frames per second.
It's a very rude way to treat someone's work of art, no matter how confusing it was. Still, it's also pretty damn cute.
