Published May 22, 2015You most likely watch him in Scrooged every year, but you'll now have even more Bill Murray to enjoy this Christmas season, as the veteran actor is set to host his very own Christmas special.
Called A Very Murray Christmas, the special is billed as "an homage to the classic variety show." It most likely won't have too much mainstream schmaltz, however, because the project is being directed by Sofia Coppola.
The show sees Murray panicking when all of his guests can't make it to his Christmas special, but through "luck and perseverance" they eventually catch up with him at New York's iconic Carlyle Hotel.
For A Very Murray Christmas, Murray will be joined by Miley Cyrus, George Clooney, Amy Poehler, Jason Schwartzman, Jenny Lewis, Chris Rock, Maya Rudolph, Paul Shaffer, Julie White, Michael Cera, Rashida Jones, Dimitri Dimitrov and others.
Since it's a Sofia Coppola project, her husband and frequent collaborator Thomas Mars will also be involved. He'll be joined by his Phoenix bandmates Christian Mazzalai and Laurent Mazzalai.
A Very Murray Christmas hits Netflix this December. A teaser trailer for the show is available below.
