In the wake of serious abuse allegations from former partner and Honey Boy co-star FKA twigs, Shia LaBeouf is formally taking a hiatus from acting as he seeks treatment in an inpatient facility.
According to a report from Variety, LeBeouf is now focusing his sole attention on recovery, leading him to part ways with his talent agency CAA. And while CAA would not comment on the matter, the publication states the actor has not been fired from the Hollywood agency. That said, CAA has reportedly not been working with LaBeouf for about a month as he receives treatment.
LaBeouf has been in treatment for more than five weeks, Variety reports, and is currently living at an undisclosed inpatient facility. His release will be dependent on his recovery, according to the publication's source.
As previously reported, the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court late last year stated: "Shia LaBeouf hurts women. He uses them. He abuses them, both physically and mentally. He is dangerous."
The actor previously responded by saying: "I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I'm ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt. There is nothing else I can really say."
LaBeouf added, "I am not cured of my PTSD and alcoholism, but I am committed to doing what I need to do to recover, and I will forever be sorry to the people that I may have harmed along the way."
